A Call to Arms!

Now that I have your attention let me clear something up. I am not talking about physical weapons or arms the way you may be thinking. We as Christians have seen how the world has made us look like fools related to our way of thinking, our character, and our lifestyle; as if our way of life was in the dark ages. However, as we see things going on in this world it appears that they are the ones in the dark ages. Therefore, here is the call to arms of which I am speaking.

It is time for the Body of Christ to arm ourselves with the word of God in ALL areas of our lives, so that we can be the light in these dark ages. You may be asking how do we do this? I will use the rest of this call to explain this based on the word of God (The Holy Bible). In doing this you will have to ask yourself so questions about your relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

  1. Where do I place this relationship in its importance to me?
  2. Whom do I seek to please at all times?
  3. Do I really believe that He controls all things?
  4. Do I have to understand everything going on around me to live and act as he would have me?
  5. Where do I place his teaching (His word) in my overall life?

The answer to these questions will tell a lot about what you think, your character, and your life style. Therefore, if you are having a hard time dealing with these questions then I recommend you spend some time with God through Jesus Christ to find out why you are having a hard time with these questions.

You see, many of the problems that are occurring around us are related to the character of the person or persons who are leading these troubling events. How can we have so many people lying, steals, looking out for themselves in positions of leadership? It is because we as Christians are told not to judge people. Therefore, these leaders think they can do anything that they want to do in order to get into leadership roles. And we do not hold them accountable! These corrupt leaders are counting on us not to know what God has called us to be and to do. Yes, part of the problem is that some so-called Christian leaders have sold us out for a slice of the world power. Yes, they will have to answer for that, but so will we also have to answer too. We do have Bibles to read and find out what God say about these things. We are required to stand on God’s word against the foolishness and corruption of this world. In fact, if we read we cannot find these attitudes of complacency and irresponsibility in the Bible. In fact, we find just the opposite (Matthews 7:1 – 5 & 15 – 20 & 18:15 – 17, Romans 8:16) we are called to fix the problem and if we cannot fix it we are to tell the Body of the problem. Something you may not know is that the word “JUDGE” is found more than 60 times in the New Testament.

Indeed, there is a standard, which is found in Matthew 7:1 – 5. Now with much prayer we indeed need to start holding these leaders to a standard that has passed the test of time. This is part of the call to arms. In addition, we find that we must make sure we hold ourselves to the same standards.

In order to do this we must understand that God has a plan and we are the vessels that He uses to bring about that plan. Do you remember when Jesus said that we are the light and the salt? Let us examine these items and see what they mean to us in this call to arms.

First, understand that light works best in the darkness or in the Dark Ages in which we find ourselves in these current times. Some people have no moral character nor any other character that we want around us. However, knowing we are light and God is in control of everything, then maybe He has placed us in these dark days to show the people a different and safer way to live. Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 – 16. We need to review those questions that I asked early in this article. How are we going to show this age of darkness that there is light if we do not shine for God in this darkness?

Salt has more than one purpose. When Jesus says in Matthew 5:13 that we are salt, He is not talking about seasoning. No, He is talking about what is put wounds or food to pull out the bad stuff, the contamination, so that it is fit for what it is meant to be used for. Therefore, God will place Christians in some things to pull out the contamination, so that we can and will be used in His plan for mankind and for His kingdom. So get happy, because God is using you in His plan to bring out the contamination and shine for Him.

This light and salt are Godly thinking, strong and right character, and the Christian lifestyle that will affect families, neighborhoods, businesses, cities, counties, states, countries and all of their leadership. So the call to arms is to fight the good fight with this Godly thinking, character, and life style in the face of this darkness. Call the ungodly behavior and corruption what it is and show the world that there is a better way, God’s way. Be willing to spend time with them to help them reach God’s way, just as someone did with you. My Grandmother always told me to reach back and help someone else reach a new place in life.

SO TAKE THE CALL TO ARMS TO EVERY PLACE YOU GO.

Be a Christian rather than identify yourself as a political being: democrat, republican, libertarian, independent, etc.
Be the Christian that God calls you to be.

Proverbs 11:10-11 (KJV)

10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
