We are learning about what Jesus called His followers to do when He called them to be His disciples. Jesus called His disciples,
gave them gifts and powers to do His will. The disciples are directed to proclaim that the Kingdom of God is at hand, to heal the sick, to cast out demons, and to raise the dead. As Jesus calls
these first disciples to do His will and work, He also calls each of us to discipleship, who call Jesus Lord and Savior.
As we continue to learn about His calling of His disciples, we
also learn that we are called to be His disciples and what is expected of us. The first disciples were indeed obedient to Christ. They returned to testify of all that happened as they obeyed the
directions of Christ. They are truly excited and joyful over what they experienced and continued to experience as they report to Jesus. Even then many people who witnessed their works at that time,
followed the disciples for their continued help through their ministry as they return to Jesus.
