What does it mean to keep God’s
commandments? Clearly, Jesus teaches that keeping His
commandments means more than
a focus on the words of the commandment. Jesus says that
keeping His commandments means actively guarding His
commandments in our hearts and in our lives. He teaches
us that keeping His commandments means that we must stay
pure in
Christ. This is more than following the words of the
commandments , it also means following the context of
the commandments.
What happens when we do this? Jesus promises us that He
will pray to Our Father and He will send another
Comforter like Jesus
Christ to be in each believer and be our comforter, our
advocate, and our intercessor forever. The Comforter is
the Holy Spirit.
As we study the scriptures we learn that The Father, the
Son and the Holy Spirit are One and will love us and
live in us forever.
