From the time that we enter
this world until the time that we leave it, we are in
battles against God’s enemies. The
enemies’ goal is to destroy your relationship with the
Lord. God knows this and gives us the weapons and armor
for the battle.
It is our duty to put on the special armor and weapons
that He gives to us. David as a boy knew that he could
not wear the
armor that King Saul gave to him. It did not fit. He
could not win a battle against Goliath with weapons and
armor that did not
fit him. Instead, he victoriously used the weapons that
God gave him. David had been trained by God to use that
slingshot over
the years, as he herded and protected his sheep from
lions and bears.
God has trained each of us for the battles that we
face. Every challenge that you face is training for the
battles of this
life. God will always bring you through. His primary
weapon for us is the whole armor of God. God’s armor is
both offensive and
defensive. Put it on! Sink into it! It is the only armor
that will fit the victorious Christian.
