The Church at Ephesus
represented many cultures coming together to form one
body in Jesus Christ. Many were from the
Jewish heritage and Culture that had a deep and long
history with God. Others were Gentiles of many pagan
beliefs. They had
to come together now. The Jews had to teach many things
to those who were Gentiles because they had limited
experiences
with God. However, all of them had to come together in
their new experience with Jesus Christ, with God the
Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit. This is still the mandate for the
Church, to come together as one body in Jesus Christ.
Before Christ we were the “walking dead.” We were dead
in our sins! God saw fit to save us from that death
through His
mercy and His grace by sending His only Son as a
sacrifice for us and all of our sin. Through Jesus
Christ, we are snatched
from death into life everlasting. We have hope, joy and
peace as we move through this life because of Jesus
Christ. We are
fully alive in Christ!
So why are so many of us living like the “walking
dead?” -As though we have no hope, no joy, and no peace
through
Jesus Christ! Where is your faith? Jesus has given us
victory over all! There are souls dependent on you
accepting God’s gifts
of mercy and grace. They need for you to share your
experiences and life in Jesus Christ so that they too
will no longer be
the “walking dead.” |
