| How many of us pay attention to the many people that God introduces us to in His word? Often, we read the passages for the importance of what God is
sharing with us. Just as often we ignore the names of the people and their descriptions as the Lord shares these with us. In the closing of Colossians, Paul mentions the names of his brothers in Christ, who he
is sending to the people of Colossae, to minister to them. These are people who have grown with Paul in the powerful ministry and missions of Jesus Christ. Paul wants us to know their backgrounds and experiences
so that we can understand that God does not discriminate or favor one individual over another based on their background, culture or their stations in life. In the body of Christ, we are all the same family with the
same one Father, God. This requires all of us to support each other, to witness to each other and to help each other with the gifts God has given to each of us, to advance and successfully complete our journey in our
Lord, to live with Him in eternity forever. These are the kinds of people that the Lord shares with us in His word and in His Body. Look beyond the names to their witnesses, the struggles and their victories in Jesus
Christ. They are more than names!
