If you are caught up in sin and
you have remorse about it, there is hope for you in
Christ. In sin, there is pain. Disobedience
to God brings pain. That pain will drive you to Christ
seeking His deliverance. However, there are some who do
not feel pain,
because their disobedience to God makes them hard and
callous. They have no remorse. They are “feeding on the
wind,” which
is going after nothingness (Hosea 12:1). This is what
happened to the Northern tribes of Israel. They chased
after the wrong
things, broke their covenant with God, and took God for
granted, dishonoring Him. Like some of us, they thought
that their lives
and behaviors were “private matters.” In fact, this is
not true, because your life and its fruit or lack of
fruit impacts others
around you. Our lives are the Father’s business; He
created us. The disobedient behaviors of the northern
tribes led to their
destruction and discipline by God.
Father, open our eyes so that we can see the
condition of our souls, and run to Christ for our
deliverance!
