In Ephesians 2, the Apostle
Paul tells believers how God through Jesus Christ has
made it possible for the people who love
and choose Jesus Christ as their Savior to come together
as His Church. God made it possible for all of those who
accept His
Son, Jesus Christ, as Lord and Savior to receive the
gift of eternal life in Him. All of His children, Jew
and Gentile, can come
together as His Church. Imagine that! People of all
different backgrounds and races, coming together in
Jesus Christ, as one
people and one Church. Paul tells us that only the love
and grace of God could bring us back to life from our
deaths in sin that
we had chosen. Our lives and our salvation comes only to
us in Jesus Christ; it is truly a gift of God. We did
nothing to earn it
or obtain it.
In this new life, God wants us to come together in Him.
He has removed all that divides us from each other. We
are His
workmanship that must reflect Him to the world, so that
they will choose Him as Lord and Savior too. That is the
work of the
Body of Christ, the Church. As we become the true
Church, the true Body of Christ we will draw closer to
God. We will reflect
Him in everything. He will be our peace; He has made us
all one in Him. How then can there be any divisions in
the Church, the
Body of Christ?
