It is Passover in Jerusalem and all the males are there to celebrate this most holy of times. Jesus comes to the
temple to celebrate this holy day that honors God for saving them and freeing them from their enslavement in Egypt. Jesus goes to the temple and what does He see? The temple leaders
and the merchants have turned the holy temple into a place like a “swap meet,” corruptly buying and selling animals for sacrifices and money changing! God’s people
had dishonored Him with such flagrant sins in His holy house! The people had no longer followed His law and commandments. They openly cheated and mistreated the people that they were
to serve and teach God’s way. How did Jesus react to what He saw? He was angry with all that He saw, and He did something about it! Would we react to this open sinfulness with
such anger or would we just fail to act and allow it to continue?
