As Jesus taught, preached and
healed people in the temple, He was confronted by the
chief priest, the scribes and the
elders. These leaders knew of the work and miracles of
Jesus Christ, yet they wanted to challenge Him. They
questioned Him.
They wanted to know by whose authority He did these
things. These leaders wanted to discredit Jesus, because
He did not
have their authority to do the things He did. Yet the
common people celebrated Jesus, because they believed He
was exactly
Who Jesus said He was. The people saw His work, they
learned of Him and they believed Him. Jesus brought
light to the
darkness and the people were saved. The leaders
preferred the darkness, even though Jesus brought light.
As we represents the light of Jesus Christ we will also
be challenged, but we must continue to share God’s word
by His
authority. People will challenge us with “Who do you
think you are?” Remember we have the authority of Jesus
Christ by our
Heavenly Father We know who we are in Christ!
