As we approach the
remembrance of our Savior’s crucifixion and His glorious
resurrection, we remember His entrance
into Jerusalem. Jerusalem had come to represent the
relationship between God and His people. Jesus knew that
the relationship
had grown worse, because the people no longer loved and
honored the Father. They chose to allow sin to separate
them from
God and from God’s love and peace. Jesus wept over
Jerusalem, because He knew they rejected loving
relationships with God.
He knew that the only way for these people to be saved,
was for Him to die on the cross as a sacrifice and
ransom for all
people’s sins. |
