It is Wednesday according to the Jewish calendar. Jesus
knows by several specific signs that prophecy about His
crucifixion
is fulfilled. He knows that it is His time to give His
life to free all people from sin. What do you suppose He
felt at this time?
What would you feel? God the Father is giving the life
of His Only Begotten Son to save a sinful world, a world
that hated Him.
Could you even begin to understand what it would mean to
give up your only child’s life for people who hate you?
Then you
may begin to feel the stress and the concerns that Jesus
and the Father were dealing with at this time. God the
Father and
God the Son knew exactly what would happen. Yet we are
reminded that even then as now God gave His only
Begotten Son
for this world, a world that He loves, so that we who
believe in His Son will have eternal life with Him.
