Praise and Worship
Sermon

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (KJV)

9) Know ye (<1492> be aware, consider) not that the unrighteous (<94> unjust {without justice; unjust, because violating what God says is just; divinely disapproved.}) shall not inherit (<2816> will inherit, obtain, acquire) the kingdom (<932> sovereignty, royal power {kingdom; the realm in which a king sovereignly rules. A kingdom always requires a king}) of God? Be not deceived (<4105> to cause to wander, lead astray {go astray, get off-course; to deviate from the correct path (circuit, course), roaming into error, wandering; (passive) be misled.}): neither fornicators (<4205> sexually immoral, {a male prostitute. i.e. anyone engaging in sexual immorality.}), nor idolaters (<1496> an image worshiper {a worshipper of false gods, an idolater}), nor adulterers (<3432> {a man who is guilty with a married woman.}), nor effeminate (<3120> soft to the touch), nor abusers of themselves with mankind (<733> homosexuals, sodomite {a man in bed with another man; a homosexual.}),

10) Nor thieves (<2812> {a thief who steals by stealth (in secret), rather than in the open with violence }), nor covetous (<4123> one desirous of having more {a greedy, covetous, rapacious, person; a defrauder, trampling on the rights of others}), nor drunkards (<3183> intoxicated), nor revilers (<3060> verbal abusers {reproach (reviling); used of injuring another's reputation by denigrating, abusive insults}), nor extortioners (<727> swindlers {seizing; a sudden snatching (like in a robbery)}), shall inherit (<2816> will inherit, obtain, acquire) the kingdom (<932> sovereignty, royal power {kingdom; the realm in which a king sovereignly rules. A kingdom always requires a king}) of God.

11) And such were some of you: but ye are washed (<628> wash off, wash away), but ye are sanctified (<37> to make holy, consecrate, purify), but ye are justified (<1344> to show to be righteous, declare righteous {approved, especially in a legal, authoritative sense; to show what is right, i.e. conformed to a proper standard (i.e. "upright"). the Lord, cleared of all charges (punishment) related to their sins. Moreover, they are justified by God's grace each time they receive (obey) faith (4102), i.e. "God's inwrought persuasion".}) in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
