As we look back and remember the events leading up
to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, we have arrived at
Thursday in
Christ’s last week before the cross. Thursday was a day of great
significance. Many prophecies were fulfilled about Jesus
Christ
on that day, leading up to the Garden of Gethsemane
events. Jesus keeps His focus. While wanting “the cup”
to pass from Him,
He accepts God’s will. In answer to His prayer to His
Father, the angel sent by God equips and strengthens Him
for all of what
He is to do. Jesus is fully equipped for all that comes.
He also spends time equipping His disciples for all that
they would do
when He no longer walked with them on earth in the
flesh.
God, through His Son and through the Holy, has fully
equipped us for the work that God has assigned to each
of us.
What must we do? Go forth and fulfill His will!
