How well do we know our
God? So many of us think that we know God so well! We
can recount all the things that we
have seen God do in our lifetime. How magnificent He is!
How forgiving and gracious He is! How all-knowing and
powerful
He is! We can do this before God as if we are really
bragging about ourselves knowing such a powerful and
wonderful God.
We are not even mentioning our love for Him nor our
thankfulness for all that He does on our behalf. Is
there something
wrong with this picture? This sounds like the prophet
Jonah’s behavior when he prayed to God after Nineveh
repented of
their sinful ways and asked God’s forgiveness. God
forgave them and Jonah became angry with God, because he
did not
want the people of Nineveh to be saved. Do we really
know the depth of God’s goodness and His grace in our
personal
lives? Can we just wholeheartedly say thank you Lord?!
Or do we just throw His love and His grace back in His
face when
things do not go our way? |
