During the last days of Jesus’ ministry on earth,
the Pharisees, Sadducees, and scribes said that they
wanted to know
where Jesus was so that they could kill Him. What is so
amazing is that Jesus was either in Bethany, nearby
Jerusalem, or
He was in Jerusalem. He had no fear of these Pharisees,
Sadducees, and scribes. He knew His purpose. He came
into the temple
daily, traveling between Bethany and Jerusalem. He was
always surrounded by people who wanted to hear the
gospel message
that He taught or they wanted Him to heal them of their
infirmities and sins.
Jesus had cleaned out the temple on more than one
occasion to rid it of people who were plundering the
poor and those
who needed the teaching that Jesus gave to them. This
teaching is what the Pharisees and Sadducees should have
been
giving to the people. Jesus is teaching us that we are
His temples too. People seek the “temple” to be taught
the things of God
and to receive His deliverance. As the temples of God,
what do people receive from you?
