When we accept Jesus Christ as
our Savior, God gives us faith that excites us and
enables us to carry His message to the
world, beginning right where we are. Paul, Silas and
Timothy were responsible for starting the church in
Thessalonica. The
Thessalonians had been a sinful people involved in idol
worship. After Paul, Silas, and Timothy delivered the
gospel to these
people, they became excited by the power and truth of
God’s word. The Thessalonians turned to the living and
true God and
delivered the gospel with power to all they encountered.
They began in their small city spreading their testimony
and gospel,
reaching many people in many areas. They were so
successful in working their faith they received from
God, that many people
encountered by Paul, Silas, and Timothy in their
travels, already were saved through the Thessalonians’
testimony and gospel
message. The Thessalonians are mighty examples of how we
must share our gospel. We cannot sit on this faith that
God gives
to us. We have work to do and so many who must hear our
message unto salvation.
