Unlike some other faiths, Christians do not
celebrate a dead god. We celebrate a Risen Savior, Jesus
Christ. He is God the
Son! God the Father loved us so much that He sent His
only begotten Son for us: to die for our sins and then
to resurrect and
live again, giving us eternal life. In His resurrection,
Jesus receives from His Father all power and authority
in heaven and in
earth. He then gives to His disciples, then and now, the
authority to save people from sin and hell by sharing
His gospel and
introducing them to Jesus Christ. So we as disciples of
Christ have the authority to set people free from their
sins. This
authority only comes to us through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ. Accepting Jesus Christ and His
resurrection gives us the key
of life.
