The Apostle Paul rejoiced in the fact that people
of so many different cultures and backgrounds were
coming together in
Christ, forming the Body of Christ, the Church. But Paul
also saw some things that were not right for those of us
in the Body of
Christ. He was so troubled by these things that he
labored in prayer for all of us who come to the Lord.
What did he see? He
saw believers who had accepted Jesus Christ as their
Savior and who had been forgiven for their sins, not
truly accept God’s
forgiveness. These believers were still attached to
their old sins, their old ways, or accepting the tags
that other people put
on them. They were still feeling badly about their past
lives instead of rejoicing in the new life that we have
in Jesus Christ.
There is no way that you can experience the newness of
life as Christ wants you to, if you are holding on to
and feeling badly
about those old rotten musty memories of past sins and
failures.
