Memorial Day is our time
to honor our military men and women who sacrificed their
lives to protect the lives and the
freedoms of the people of the United States. This is
also an important opportunity for Christians to
memorialize our saints who
sacrificed their all for us to come to know God.
Memorial Day comes with celebration and with a great
burden. Memorial Day
reminds us that we cannot be self-centered. We must take
on the challenges of developing our relationship with
God and the
challenge of sharing the knowledge and experience of God
to help others who must also develop their relationships
with God
and become His saints. Such sacrifices require us not to
be self-centered but to be Christ-centered. This is
life-saving work
that God calls each of us to do.
