In John 3, Jesus teaches Nicodemus and all who seek Him what the power of believing in Jesus means. Believing in
Jesus Christ as the only begotten Son of God gives us His forgiveness for our sins and eternal life immediately. The word “believe” is more than a mental process and
it is far more than just speaking the word. Believing is living in and for Jesus. But what of those who choose not to believe in JESUS? Jesus tells us that all those who do not choose
Him, the Light, are condemned to the darkness that they choose. Condemnation does not begin in hell; it begins at the moment that those who choose darkness refuse Jesus Christ. Why would
anyone choose condemnation to darkness? They make this conscious choice because they are evil. The good news is that God does not give up on those who refuse Christ, He will continue to
offer the opportunity to accept Jesus. The decision always rests with every individual to accept God’s forgiveness, receive salvation and eternity. Even with the goodness and grace
of our Father, each person must choose between Jesus, the Light or the darkness.
