| Today we examine the close of the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus. Nicodemus has come by night to
ask Jesus who He is and what God’s truth is. Jesus gives Nicodemus the truth of Who He is and how to enter the kingdom of God. The message that Jesus shares with
Nicodemus is profound and lifesaving for both Nicodemus and for each of us. We must be born of the Holy Spirit; we must believe that Jesus is the Son of God; and live according
to His word and His example. Finally, we must believe that in the Father, Jesus is the Light and we must choose the Light and not darkness. This means that we practice living the
truth in the Light. Jesus helps us to understand that those who do not choose the Light, do live in the darkness and practice the things of the darkness; they are evil and practice
evil. All of us have the freedom to choose Light or darkness. There is no “in-between” or “gray area.” This is a hard truth. Many of us know many
“nice people” and even have relatives and loved ones who have not chosen Jesus Christ as Savior. The harsh reality is that they have chosen the darkness rather than the
Light, Jesus Christ. Until the time that they actually choose Jesus Christ and walk in His Light, they are in darkness and are practicing darkness. The mission for all believers in
Christ is to share His word, His goodness and be His Light before all people, so that more will come to Jesus and come to live in the Light. There is only Light or Darkness according to
God’s Word. What is your choice?
