Fatherhood is one of the most
gratifying experiences a man can have, and with this
experience comes great responsibility. Fatherhood comes
in many forms, as Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians
4:14-17. Just as we have the ability to produce a child,
we also can choose to adopt. Paul is telling the church
in Corinth; since I am the one that lead you to Christ,
I am your Father. You can have many people in your life,
that will teach and guide you, but I am your Father.
Just as Paul is reminding the church
of Corinth, he also is reminding us. If you guide
someone to Christ, you are their spiritual father. This
also is a great responsibility
that should not be taken
lightly. As we are accountable for our natural children,
we are also accountable for our
spiritual children. We are not to be "Dead Beat Dad's"
to either!
