Paul, in his epistles,
frequently reminds believers to walk worthy of our
calling in Jesus Christ. Our “walk” is our behavior
before the world and before the Lord. What does the
world see in us? What does God see in us? The world
should see each
believer as persons with strong character, who shines
forth the light of Christ and is the salt that will draw
out the impurities
of the world and disposes of it as God sees fit. We do
not have to fear being contaminated by the world,
because the Holy
Spirit is with us always, protecting us. What God should
see in us is His holy image being lived before Him in
us. We must walk
worthy of such a great God, never displeasing Him with
our behavior. As we fill ourselves with God’s word, we
reflect His truth
in our lives. His word, His truth is a special gift to
us. When we accept His gift, His word, His truth, we
will walk worthy of His
good pleasure and change the world.
