Last week and this week, we learn so much about the history of Samaria. Many believers think of Samaria as a
God-forsaken place that the Jewish leaders defamed and disrespected. However, in studying Samaria’s history we find that God never discarded this people, because there
were those in this land of Samaria that had true hearts for the Lord and chose to worship Him. Jesus now comes to Samaria with the purpose of meeting the needs of God’s
people in Samaria, the ones that the Pharisees’ regarded as unclean. We also see that the Samaritans had been impacted by this cruel treatment by the Jewish leaders, with
their poor view of themselves. Beginning with the woman at the well, the Samaritans will be reawakened to their relationship with a God Who truly loves them, Who has never forgotten
them. Jesus is bringing renewal in the relationship between God and the Samaritan believers, starting with His conversation with the woman at the well. Many believers would greatly
benefit from such an honest conversation with Jesus that always renews our relationship with our Father.
