Faith is not an abstract concept that cannot be explained, understood, or seen. As followers of Jesus Christ , we have
real faith that is given to us by God. This God-given faith is given to His children who He truly loves. God gives this faith to each of us to use for real works for the Body of
Christ and to fulfill God’s plan and purposes in us and His people. If we say that we believe in God, we are required to put our faith into action for Him and His people. Many
people, even demons say they believe in God, but true believers actually put their beliefs and faith into action for the Lord.
As we learn about the faith and works of believers in the Bible, James reminds us of the real working faith of Abraham. Abraham obeys God’s
command to sacrifice His son Isaac and God rewards Abraham’s faith by providing a ram to replace Isaac for the sacrifice. Abraham obeyed God’s direction, trusted God to keep His
word, in giving Isaac to Abraham to make Him the father of many nations. Abraham reminds us that we have to trust God as we move forward to putting our faith to work.
