Peter’s last words in
scripture warn believers of what is to come and what we
must do about it. As in the past, false
prophets came in among the chosen people of God and led them astray, even
to worship false gods and turned away from
the one true God. In present times, we are faced with
the same challenges and evil. There are false teachers
and prophets
speaking and teaching lies to draw God’s children away from Him and His
truth. As their father, Satan, is a master of deceit
and destruction, so are these, his followers and
deceivers who want to rob us of God’s blessings and
promises. All believers
are to know the word of God and prayerfully follow it,
always examining the words, the actions and the fruit of
those who
want to befriend us, guide us, lead us, and teach us.
Identify those false teachers, leaders or members who
speak lies and
warn others and protect other believers from them. God’s
Holy Spirit will always tell us the truth, when we pray
to the Father
and yield to the Holy Spirit. |
