If God speaks to his children then why can't all of
his children hear him? All his children can hear God's
voice, the true
question is are they listening. Our lives are full of
clutter, noise, and other distractions which hold our
attention. Imagine
having a conversation with your spouse during the middle
of a football game with your favorite team. Which one
will hold your
attention more; the football game or what your spouse is
saying to you.
God speaks to us in many forms: Through his word (The
Bible), Through other people, through situations in our
lives and
even through dreams. Can we devote the time to listen;
avoiding the distractions of life. Just as your
spouse expects your
full attention, so does God. A real conversation is when
one person speaks while the other person listens. When
you speak to
God your expectations are that he is listening; so why
are you not listening when God speaks to you?
