For the past few weeks we have learned that Jesus came to earth not only to save us from our sins, but to also help
us to reunite with our Heavenly Father and to walk in His Holy Spirit. Our new life in Jesus Christ will lead to greater communication with Our Father. In Chapter 6 of the Book of
Matthew, Jesus gives very specific instructions to His followers so that we will have the holy relationship with Our Father. Jesus teaches us how to give alms in the Father’s
name for His work. He teaches us how to pray to Our Father in the Name of Jesus. Jesus teaches us how to forgive. Today, we learn how to have a greater experience when we communicate
with the Father through fasting.
Many people fast for all kinds of fleshly reasons, but Jesus teaches us how to fast in the Spirit so
that we can more clearly communicate with the Father. When we are fasting as Jesus teaches, we can get “self” out of the way, so that we can clearly hear from Our Father. |
