| As we study the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, we must be attentive to what each of the gospels tell us about His
ministry. We have been studying the Gospel of John, and the power in His ministry when He went into Samaria and then into Galilee. The Gospel of Luke teaches even more about His
ministry as He enters Galilee. In Luke, we learn the power with which He begins His ministry in Galilee, the power of the Holy Spirit in Him, Luke 4:14 and 15. Luke tells us that “
when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season (Luke 4:13 KJV). Then Jesus enters Galilee in the “power of the Spirit.” His fame spread throughout
all the region and He taught in the synagogue on the sabbath day. Jesus makes a very important announcement when He opens the book of Isaiah that had been handed to Him. What had been
foretold by the prophet Isaiah has now come into reality in the person of Jesus Christ. He comes to all who need Him, in the Spirit of the Lord to fulfill God’s purpose for all of mankind.
