The growth of the Church at Ephesus depended upon
believers from various races and cultures coming
together as the
Body of Christ. This meant that these people had to let
go of the past. They had to change. In this circumstance
change is
good. Change requires us to grow and move forward or
regroup; the choice to do so is up to each of us. The
believers at
Ephesus had to change by getting rid of the old beliefs,
old and sinful behaviors. They had to hold fast to their
new beliefs
and their new relationship with God through Jesus
Christ. These changes are the same that are required of
each believer. We
must change. The way you used to be and act before
Christ cannot continue in your new relationship with
Him.
Sometimes we hit rock-bottom. You are where you must
change, but you are fearful. God has presented you the
door of
promise and opportunity to change. Will you walk through
that door? As believers in Christ we are also called to
help others
change and to grow in Christ.
