Jesus and His disciples, Peter, John, and James are descending from the glorious experience on the Mount of Transfiguration.
They are met with a large gathering of people who were disciples, scribes, and others and much arguing. Jesus asks what is happening. As it turns out there are scribes in the midst who are
not believers who intend to disrupt the work of the disciples for the Lord’s glory. The disciples have already been directed by Jesus to do God’s will and have been given the power
to do His work. These unbelieving scribes intended to disrupt the disciples’ work. Unfortunately, the scribes were succeeding in disrupting the disciples’ work, until Jesus intervened,
reminding the disciples of what they are commanded to do. We must always remember the work that Jesus has called us to do. We must never be distracted by the continuing efforts of the enemy which
is always to distract us and make us fail! Let us truly focus on what our holy assignments are! |
