Abraham is called our father
of faith. During his time Abraham notice that people
were worshipping many gods. Long before
everyone else knew the One God and long before the law
pointed to the One God, Abraham believed that there must
be one
God that kept everything in order and ruled over these
other gods that people worshipped. Abraham began seeking
the true
and living his life according to that truth. As a result
his faith and seeking God, God revealed Himself to
Abraham. Then God asks
Abraham to leave his home and the family that he knew
and go to a far land. In his obedience Abraham is
promised by God to
make of him a great nation and a great blessing: In him
“all of the families of the earth will be blessed.”
Abraham is a great
example for us. When you come to know that there is One
God and you seek Him with all your heart and your life,
with the faith
that only He gives you; He will reveal Himself to you,
He mightily blesses you. God counts you worthy!
