We have been focusing on the beginning days of the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ. Today, we examine the
beginning of His walk and interactions with His inner circle of disciples. As He fulfills the prophecy of Isaiah, Jesus begins with Andrew and Philip. Philip carries the
good news of meeting Jesus to Nathanael. Philip knows that this is the Jesus of Nazareth about whom Moses and the prophets wrote. Nathanael had his doubts that anything good
could come out of Nazareth. Philip responds to Nathanael to come and see for himself. Nathanael’s response when Jesus speaks to him as he approaches, telling Nathanael
how He knows him, causes Nathanael to exclaim “Rabbi, you are the Son of God!” Over and over again, we are witnessing the power that Jesus has in His spoken words
as He yields to the power of the Holy Spirit. We have the same power when we share God’s word through the power of the Holy Spirit. The same Holy Spirit that guided Jesus
Christ lives in every believer and desires to lead us in all that God calls us to do when we are obedient.
