Genesis 17:1-7 (Part2) |
|
When we give our lives to
Christ, the faith that God has given to us is ours
whether we are circumcised or uncircumcised,
whether before the law or after the law. Our faith is
not dependent on the Mosaic law at all. The faith that
God has given to
us means that we believe and we are firmly convinced by
God that He is God. We are like Abraham who was firmly
convinced
in God through faith and then walked and lived his life
reflecting this faith that God gave him, trusting and
depending on God.
God called Abraham righteous because his life was a
living testimony of the one true God to everyone. This
happened long
before the circumcision and the law. We are also
required to live fully in the faith that God has given
to us, that we may be
righteous as Abraham was. It has nothing to do with our
lives before we came to the Father, it has nothing to do
with
correcting mistakes by following the law. It has
everything to do with our lives being lived in Christ
for our Father through a
living and working faith in the Lord.
