| We are often encouraged by others to think highly of ourselves, because it is so important for our self-esteem. Some people think that this
“self-worship” is important if we are to accomplish anything worthwhile in our lives. It is very important to know that self-promotion has nothing to do with God’s directions for being
the best that you can be in His service. Jesus tells us that being the best that God expects us to be, has nothing to do with competing with others who also want to be the best in God’s kingdom. To
even enter the kingdom of God, we must be as innocent as a small child before God and serve Him with childlike faith. Without that childlike faith and our trust in God, it does not matter what we achieve in
the material world, we will not be first in the kingdom of God. And think about this! Since God is the creator of all and truly the greatest of all, how can we ever hope to be the GREATEST of ALL in His kingdom? |
