Paul reminds us that in the
body of Christ there is a coming together of believers
from many different cultures,
backgrounds, and traditions. These differences may cause
conflicts and issues. If these are not addressed they
will hinder or
destroy the body of Christ. We have freedom in Christ,
but not everyone can accept these freedoms. Some
believers are
caught up in old traditions or habits that make them
weaker in the body of Christ. The way to avoid or
address such
weaknesses is to be grounded in God’s word and
standards. With grounding in the word of God, patience,
prayers, and the
love of God, we must come alongside our weaker brothers
and sisters and help them to grow in the freedom that
God gives
to us. As they grow, we also grow resulting in a
stronger more dedicated body in Christ. |
