| After Jesus saves the paralytic from his sins and heals him of his physical affliction, Jesus reminds all that He can do
all things. He is Lord and He is guided by the Holy Spirit as He carries out the Father’s mission for all of mankind. It is difficult for the so-called learned leaders of that
time to grasp the message and the works that God has ordained Jesus to fulfill. These are the so-called scholars, scribes, and Pharisees of the day who were supposed to lead the people
in God’s word and His ways. These leaders could not in fact grasp nor did they want to accept Who Jesus is. They would much rather define Jesus for themselves. With no success,
they continue to do this evil until the crucifixion. What we do notice is that as Jesus continues to do His work, He draws to Himself so many of those who are hurting and burdened by sin;
those who want salvation. |
