Isaiah 9:5-7 foretells the
coming of Jesus Christ, but very specific language is
used. We are told that our Father gives
to us a child, a son. What does God expect us to do with
this child? What should anyone do if he or she is given
a child? You
would nurture the child, help the child, your child, to
grow to full maturity, developing the very deepest
relationship possible
with the son. This is what God expects us to do for His
Son in us, allowing His Spirit to grow fully in us with
all of God’s power
– in us, through us, and around us. But we are required
to nurture and grow this Spirit and power, by
accomplishing all that
we are called to do for the Child Who is given to us. |
