Paul tells believers in
Ephesians 6:10, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the
Lord, and in the power of his might.” Have you
ever thought about why Paul says “finally?” Throughout
Ephesians, Paul has been teaching us what the Church,
the Body
of Jesus Christ, really is. We have seen how believers
from all different backgrounds came together in Christ
for the glory of
God, leaving their old sinful selves, taking on their
new lives, learning from each other and serving each
other.
As they learned of Christ and lived in Christ, they
became His Church. So it must be with us; we must come
together in
Christ leaving behind the old self and moving forward to
our new life in Christ. When we do these things, then
“finally” we can
“be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”
