God, Our Father, has made His
plan for us very clear to all. He has proclaimed it to
everyone. He even proclaimed it to
Satan when he deceived Adam and Eve. His proclamation
was from that day forward that He had a plan to redeem
all of
humankind, Jews and Gentiles, from the evil of sin. That
redemption comes to every one of us through His Son,
Jesus Christ.
On Christmas day, we choose to celebrate that promise:
Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, Whom the Father
sent to us
to carry out His plan, His promise. Through the birth of
Jesus Christ, God shows us that He keeps His promise to
us. As we
celebrate the birth of Jesus, we must recognize that in
keeping His promise, God has a plan for our lives. In
that plan we can
be born again into the newness of God’s promise. All
that we have to do is to accept the Christ and the
promise and the plan
that He brings. As in all births, there will be some
pain in letting go of our old nature, but also in every
birth there is great joy.
Joy to the world, the Lord has come!
