O Holy Night! The night when
Jesus Christ was born on this earth was indeed a holy
night. The angel of the Lord came to
the shepherds who were in the field watching over their
sheep and proclaimed the good tidings that our Savior,
Christ Jesus
was born. Have you ever thought of the wonder and
importance of that truly holy night and the holy message
that came to
those shepherds? The shepherds were the ones to receive
the most wonderful announcement that our great Shepherd,
Jesus,
had come to earth to save and watch over His sheep. We
are His sheep. That night, the shepherds ran to tell
everyone Who
this baby in the manger was. The manger that held the
baby Jesus would ordinarily be used as a feeding trough.
Indeed, it is
appropriate because our Savior is also the Bread of Life
and the Living Water that feeds His sheep. O what a Holy
Night when
our Shepherd came to save us and watch over us forever!
